Holiday-resort operator Center Parcs UK could soon be a part of Brookfield Asset Management Inc.’s portfolio. The Canadian asset manager is in talks with Blackstone Group and an agreement could be reached as soon as next week. Bloomberg has the details on the $3.7B (2.4 billion pounds) bid that topped offers from other bidders including CVC Capital Partners. Center Parcs operates five U.K. resorts that include hotels and countryside activities. The deal would add to Brookfield’s stable of resort properties, which include Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas. Should the deal fall through, Blackstone may move forward with an IPO for Center Parcs. [BB]
