SOL VISTA Energizes The Hotel Monaco

SOL VISTA tells us about its award-winning efforts at Hotel Monaco DC, where the national energy consultancy helped owner Pebblebrook Hotel Trust save money while greening the hotel. Hotel Monaco has a storied history: built in 1842 as DC’s first main post office, it was converted to a swank Kimpton hotel in 2001. Following Pebblebrook’s purchase of the hotel in 2010, SOL VISTA worked closely with the owner and the hotel’s onsite team to identify and implement numerous ROI-driven, utility-saving measures. The end result was a 48% (or $500k) reduction in annual utility expenses and accolades including being named a DOE Better Buildings Challenge Showcase Building and receiving the 2013 American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Stars of the Industry award. SOL VISTA continues to cut utility expenses for commercial building owners nationwide. Hotel Monaco is just one of its successes and demonstrates the firm’s strong hospitality niche.
