Kushner-Backed Real Estate Startup Cadre Raises $65M In Funding

Real estate investment startup Cadre raised $65M in its latest round of Series C funding.

The investment platform, which allows wealthy people to invest $500K or more into properties as if they were stocks, is owned in part by White House adviser Jared Kushner through his investment firm, BFPS Ventures.

The Series C round was led by Menlo Park venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, and was joined by Jim Breyer of Breyer Capital, the Ford Foundation and Goldman Sachs, among others, TechCrunch reports. Now that the round has closed the company is worth over $800M.

Since its launch, Cadre has generated more than $1B in real estate deals, according to Inc. The company was founded in 2015 by Ryan Williams, formerly of Blackstone Group, and Joshua and Jared Kushner, which became a point of criticism when Trump's son-in-law failed to disclose his stake in the company after joining the president's White House team.
