Drive-In Replica Entertainment Attraction Coming To Nashville In '18

New York-based designer Michael Counts and his Nashville partners, including Ken Levitan, inked a letter of intent to lease a 7.7-acre property in the East Bank area to develop August Moon Drive-In, a concept created by Counts. The property will be a themed entertainment attraction offering a full-sized indoor re-creation of a country drive-in movie theater, circa 1965, Variety reports.

August Moon will be designed to connect moviegoers with a nostalgia for American popular culture, under a 40k SF air-supported dome, along with a simulated starry sky and seating in modified classic cars. There will be food service — with a full bar — featuring artisanal takes on burgers and milkshakes and the like.

Nashville was chosen for the launch of the brand in part because the city seemed a good fit for the attraction’s classic-Americana vibe, according to Counts. Levitan is co-owner of several Nashville restaurants and co-founder of the Nashville Wine and Food Festival. [Variety]
