Carson Gets New Porsche Facility

Friday will mark opening day for the $60M Porsche Experience Center in Carson.

It was built on the site of the former Dominguez Hills Golf Course adjacent to the 405 Freeway at 19800 South Main St.

There are 4.1 miles of roadway courses in the facility aimed at thrilling very experienced drivers, the Daily Breeze reports.

The 53-acre, 6k SF facility also has a coffee bar, Speedster Café and Restaurant 917, which will be open to the public, and an outdoor viewing area.

The complex will also be available for rent for parties and corporate events.

The facility has been five years in the making.

Construction was delayed because of environmental cleanup on the land due to a closed underground landfill there. [DB]
