After establishing The Grove Do-nutz & Deli in Richmond, a husband-and-wife duo is opening its second restaurant in Sugar Land. This time it is a brunch concept, Toast.

"After six years operating The Grove and the launch of our food truck three years ago, we were ready for a new culinary adventure," said Tam Hoang, who is co-owner of Toast with his wife, Renda. "With Toast, we are looking to bring a playful, but elevated, breakfast, brunch and lunch option to the Sugar Land area with a focus on locally sourced ingredients like meats from Ruffino in Bryan."

The farm-to-table restaurant will be in The Crossing at Telfair at 300 Promenade Way. The menu will include an array of gourmet pancakes, specialty toasts, croissant doughnuts, build-your-own omelets, burgers, sandwiches, bone-in wings and Vietnamese signatures like double pork chops and shaking beef salad. Craft beer and mimosas will also be available.

Toast offers a modern and airy design that incorporates industrial elements and pops of yellow in seating and lining of doorways and windows. The space can seat up to 50.

"It's always exciting to work with creative, independent operators like the Hoangs," Capital Retail Properties Senior Associate Jacob Weersing said in a release. "They not only add to the culinary diversity of the Sugar Land area but are also representative of the melting pot of people and flavors that has made Houston one of the country's most vibrant dining scenes."
