Sports Authority Closes Englewood HQ

The Sports Authority is shutting down its Englewood HQ. The kaput retailer, which started a chainwide liquidation today, filed a WARN notice with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment to that effect this week. The move will put more than 460 people at the location out of work, including executives, buyers, business analysts and planners, marketers and merchandise managers and others, the Denver Business Journal reports. Sports Authority has more than 700k SF of retail space in the metro Denver area, all of which is closing. [DBJ]
