Happy ‘Make Leases Day’

Today, Stream Realty marked its first-ever Make Leases Day beginning at a sun-baiting 7:30am. Co-managing partner Mike McVean coined the term to describe a special mentoring program Stream plans to implement.

The gloves are off, says co-manager Sarah Payne (with the evidence to prove it), flanked by Mike and VP Cannon Green, and, seated, managing director Ben Sumner, left, and co-managing partner Lee Belland. Mike tells us that while running on Scenic Drive in Flower Mound he came up with the idea of Make Leases Day to raise morale while training and empowering the less experienced talent at the firm. Mike says associates are encouraged to bring to the table the deals they’re working on, whether it’s the most challenging tenant or ways to come up with an action plan for closing a particular transaction.

Speaking of making leases, Stream is marketing an 82k SF big block of space at 6031 Connection, which VP Rebecca Rambie believes is the most functional and ready-to-go block of available space in Las Colinas. She leases the Class AA asset with Anthony Bolner for Piedmont Realty Trust and adds that “the premier location at the hard corner of 161 and 114, the new 'Main and Main' of Las Colinas, makes for high visibility and unmatched signage opportunities.”

Sarah says some members of the office team are working on 10 deals right now. The firm is the largest third party leasing firm in DFW, with 12M SF leased/managed locally and 74M SF across the six cities where it's located. Among its biggest clients: Hines (which owns and manages Chase Tower, above, home to Stream’s corporate HQ), Metlife, JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, TA, Principal, and ING.
