Newcastle Ltd repped by Cushman & Wakefield's Luke Molloy, acquired the 10k SF 1640 N Damen Ave (retail and apartments) in Bucktown for $3.2M. The deal was a sale-leaseback.

Denton Brosch bought the 2,000 SF Flounder's at 2201 N Clybourn in Lincoln Park and opened The Drinkingbird Bar. Kudan Group's Jim Martin and Marcus Sullivan negotiated the deal. Jim and Jarret Fradin handled the sale of the 4,000 SF Coral Sushi at 7600 W Madison in Forest Park. And Marcus sold and leased the 2,200 SF, former Caffe De Luca at 1721 W Damen Ave in Bucktown to Grass Fed, which plans a steakhouse.
 
LEASING
 
Domtar Paper Co signed a long-term, early extension for the 453k SF distribution center at 350 S Rohlwing Rd in Addison. NAI Hiffman's Brian Colson, Mark Moran, and Eric Fischer repped the landlord, Boston-based High Street Real Estate Fund III.
CONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPMENT
 
Morgan/Harbour Construction will work on a 10k SF office buildout for Murphy & Hourihane in 161 N Clark St. The law firm is relocating from Wacker Drive. Ben Warriner is project executive, Steve Rogers is project manager, and Tom Cunninghamis project superintendent for the firm. Transwestern is managing the project, to deliver this summer, and Fitzgerald Earles Architects and Associates is doing design work.
EXECUTIVE MOVES & NEWS
 
MB Real Estate promoted Kevin Purcell to COO, a new position.
Peak Construction promoted John Reilly to president and Kevin Mitchell to project manager. John joined the company in ’06 and is a University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign grad. Kevin has also worked for Janko Group.
 
Mark Gunderson joined JF McKinney and Associates as SVP and principal from The John Buck Co. He'll handle new biz development and office leasing.
 
Patrick Shannonjoined ML Realty as director. He worked for Darwin Realty and Development Corp for the past 10 years. He’s a University of St. Francis alum.
 

Bradford Allen promoted Andy DeMoss to managing director. The Downtown office landlord rep joined the firm in ’05.

Kenneth Szady joined Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Capital Group from Cushman & Wakefield as executive managing director, concentrating on industrial. He’s also worked for Trammell Crow and JLL.

Tim Stuchl joined JCF Real Estate as director of construction. He’ll be based in the Schaumburg HQ and work on Chicago and St. Charles projects. Previously, he owned Merced Consulting, and he’s worked for Remington Homes and DR Horton.

Steve Schwartz and Lara Keene joined RKF's recently opened Chicago office from Baum Realty Group as directors.

Reed Construction hired Augie Insalaco as a project manager from Interior Alterations and promoted Matt Mahoney from project intern to project engineer.
