Meet the Pink Lady—the Charlotte Fire Department?s pink fire truck for breast cancer awareness (to ?extinguish the disease?). The truck was on hand at the Queen City in Pink kickoff party held by CREW Charlotte recently at Ten at Park Lanes on Montford Dr. CREW has partnered with Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to encourage property owners and managers to turn buildings and fountains across the city pink during the week of Race for the Cure, which is Sept. 30 to Oct. 6 this year
We snapped the Queen City in Pink 2012 committee members at the party, and were told that the group passed  its 100-participant goal, with 103 Charlotte buildings and facilities planning to pink themselves for the event thus far. Some of this year's participants i nclude the EpiCentre, Stonecrest at Piper Glen, The Town of Ayrsley, YMCA, Coliseum Centre, and NC Music Factory.
