Chinese IT Firm Expands in Charlotte

One of Chinas largest IT consulting firms, Pactera Technology International, is betting on Charlotte--putting its US IT Services HQ at 6100 Fairview Rd. Itplans to expand from 60 employees to about 260 in three years. Pactera VP Douglas Vinson tells us the areas concentration of educational professionals was the main draw, since the company would be able to tap that pool to sustain its growth. Douglas is second from right (the only one brave enough to rock the pocket square), with Charlotte Chamber economic developer Eileen Cai and Chamber prez Bob Morgan, Mecklenburg County Commission Chair Pat Cotham, and Charlotte Mayor Anthony Fox.
