FACES IN THE CROWD

At Bisnow's recent Fort Meade event, we snapped panelistRosemary Budd of TASC, who also heads the Fort Meade Alliance, with FMA general manager Tim O'Ferrall. She tells us the FMA's Meade Business Connect program helps area businesses with targeted info on the 98 government agencies based at the fort. One initiative is the six-month business mentorship program that matches those firms trying to navigate the Fort Meade government-contracting process with proven regional leaders. And now that the Defense Information Systems Agency is in place at the base, FMA's got a lunch coming up Oct. 28 with DISA director of procurementKathleen Miller.
Sebesta Bloomberg's David Mannix (with Wesco/Communications Supply Corp's Garth Hedger, Sigal's Gene Darnell, and URS' Al O'Konski) tells us the 10-year, multibillion-dollar renovation of the 6.6M SF Pentagon (the largest office building in the world...but give Google a couple years) has wrapped up. His firm's job was to make sure all the mechanical and electrical systems started and worked together. Al is designing an electrical substation at Fort Meade, and there's plenty more business to be had in the area. He points out that the base is the biggest electricity user in Maryland and it's not done growing by a long shot. "That's why we're all here," he says. (You and us both, Al.)
Miles & Stockbridge Frederick managing principal Michael Delauterand colleagues Noel Manalo and Gregory Burgee were on hand to support Baltimore principal Larry Haislip, who was also one of our moderators.
The place was just crawling with lawyers. Here's Miles & Stockbridge's Steve Carroll, along with and AJ Properties' Stuart Title.
NBC4's Ray Riller (with Atapco's Michael Carter) tells us he's selling ads for Meet the Press' online counterpart Press Pass, and b2b crowds (huh, just like you'd find at a Bisnow event) are a new area of focus.
Metropolitan Management's Trish Palumbo, flanked by Greenhorne & O'Mara's Heather Stickler and Merritt Construction Services' Gina Stewart points out that Heather works in engineering, Gina does construction, and she handles leasing, marketing, and a little development. Who said CRE is male dominated?
Sticking it out to the very end: Gilbane's Clare Archer, AECOM'sMichelle Monnet, PageSoutherlandPage's George Hellmuth, AECOM's Bob Priest and Steve Sowder, and Gilbane's Brendan Bohan.
