| Blake says Baltimore is in competition with surrounding markets for leisure and convention dollars, and both the private and public sectors must continue to reinvest in the waterfront. You've got to "continue to add rides to your theme park" to improve the guest experience, he says. (He may have been making an analogy, but a log ride in the Inner Harbor isn't a bad idea... ) Blake would like to see even further enhanced public spaces, which add value for visitors. Meanwhile, the private sector should continue to reinvest in its assets. Hence Cordish's recent $11M renovation of Power Plant, where Phillips Seafood opened in November, and Power Plant Live, where Leinenkugel's Beer Garden opened in September and Kettle Hill opened a few weeks ago. Blake also tells us Cordish is negotiating its apartment and ground-floor retail expansion to Power Plant Live with the City and plans to break ground next year. |
