Equity One Letting Go Of Cost Plus World Market In Buckhead?

Equity One's planned redevelopment of the famed Disco Kroger shopping center in Buckhead could have a tenant casualty. Equity One COO Mike Makinen told investment analysts on a recent earnings call that the firm will be "allowing certain lease expirations that would otherwise be simple to renew or refill to remain longer-term vacancies," including the Cost Plus World Market at its Kroger-anchored Piedmont Peachtree Crossing shopping center. While Mike did not go into details on its planned redevelopment, the company revealed renderings on its website earlier this year on a major redevelopment of the property that will include multifamily. If Equity One lets go of Cost Plus, it would effectively free up 20k SF at the center.
