The party has ended at Swoozie?s. The Atlanta-based chain of 43 shops specializing in gifts and stationery announced yesterday afternoon it's closing. This morning, we snapped a location on Peachtree, where closeout sales have already begun. Swoozie?s filed for bankruptcy earlier this month. Hilco purchased the company's retail and other assets in a bankruptcy court-approved auction. In a letter to shoppers on Swoozie?s website, founder Kelly Plank Dworkin wrote that the foundation of the brand has been about celebrating the important events in life. ?We are looking at what could very well be the end of the celebration, and I want to thank you for joining the party.?
