First came his entry into the political arena. Now, Kirk Rich has a new employer.

Rich just sold his firm, Rich Real Estate Services, to Avison Young and has joined the firm as principal, overseeing its third-party landlord representation and advisory service division from the local office. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

The deal comes just weeks after Rich announced his intention to run for Atlanta City Council's 6th District seat, which is being vacated by Alex Wan, who intends to run for City Council president. And it comes days after Toronto-based Avison Young announced that it purchased Atlanta-based Hotel Asset Group, a 20-broker firm specializing in hotel sales across the U.S.

According to company officials, Rich will be tasked to grow Avison Young's third-party leasing representation across the Southeast, as well as recruit talent to the firm. Avison Young's Atlanta office is led by former Minnesota Vikings, LA Rams and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Steve Dils.
