KKR To Acquire Tech Software Company For $3.3B

PERE giant KKR is set to acquire Epicor Software Corp from Apax Partners for $3.3B.

The private equity firm will pull from its North America XI fund to finance the acquisition, and the deal is expected to close within a month.

“We’ve been looking for a long time at the larger, more established software assets,” KKR co-head of tech deals Herald Chen (pictured) says. This deal follows a trail of other tech acquisitions by private equity firms, Bloomberg reports. Just last year, Carlyle Group purchased Symantec Corp’s data-storage business for $7.4B, and last month Thomas Bravo acquired Qlik Technologies for $3B. [Bloomberg]
