Taco Bell Wants To Get You Drunk

National Retail

Taco Bell is adding alcoholic beverages to its menu in an effort to appeal to trendy Millennials. Its more upscale spinoff chain, Taco Bell Cantina, which has an open kitchen like Chipotle, will be serving beer, wine and frozen alcoholic drinks alongside its tapas-style appetizers. "Today's consumers are living in more urban settings and our new restaurants cater to their lifestyles in adapting our traditional restaurant concept to fit their modern needs," Taco Bell CEO Brian Niccol says. Locations by Wicker Park in Chicago and AT&T Park in San Francisco will first see the boozy integration. Taco Bell hopes to open 2,000 new locations by 2022 by opening or remodeling up to 600 stores a year. [Fortune]
