Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide principals Ed Wabick and Jerry Sullivan repped Markham Property Management in the sale of a 92k SF warehouse at 2200-2206 W 159th St in Markham. Kelly Pipe Co, repped by DTZ’s Mike Piscoran, bought the warehouse to use as its new Chicago HQ.

NelsonHill completed three sales on the North Side totaling $5.3M: Intrinsic Charter School (repped by ProTen Realty’s Renee Betzelos and Joe Gelber) purchased the former Shannon Lumber (repped by NelsonHill principals Mark and Michael Nelson) facility at 4540 W Belmont Ave; Marino Dodge purchased the remaining Gateway Chevy portfolio at 5349-5389 N Milwaukee Ave (Mark and Michael repped the seller); and NelsonHill SVP Frank Melchert repped Duray Electric in the sale of its 57k SF building at 2050 W Balmoral Ave.

Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide SVP Phil Reiff, Sr., and associate Phil Reiff, Jr., repped buyer Delta Laboratories and seller Gamon International in the sale of a 20k SF building at 1601 Lively in Elk Grove. Delta is expanding into the one-acre site from its current space.


LEASING

Bridge Development Partners, repped by NAI Hiffman’s Steve Connolly, completed a new 59k SF lease with Quirch Foods (repped by JLL’s Scott Duerkop and Conor Mullady) at 8424 W 47th St in Lyons. Quirch will open its first Midwest location at the 314k SF, 81% occupied Lyons facility (above), a JV between Bridge, Wanxiang America Real Estate Group, and Hillwood Investment Properties. Bridge also renewed a 10-year, 54k SF lease with Alpha Baking Co (repped by Lowenbaum REP’s Dennis Salinas) at another cold storage facility, 2658 S Leavitt St, a JV of Bridge and Hunt Realty Investments.

Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide SVP Phil Reiff, Sr., and associate Phil Reiff, Jr., completed two leases and a build-to-suit for industrial tenants: Ross International in a 40k SF lease at 1239-1251 Mark St in Elk Grove (CBRE’s Kevin Segerson repped the owner, Prologis); Schneider Graphics in a 21k SF build-to-suit at 885 Tesler Rd in Lake Zurich (New London Associates repped ownership); and Key Code Media in a new 6,007 SF lease at Plumwood Tech Center, 1201 Wiley in Schaumburg (Entre Commercial’s Dan Benassi repped ownership, Exeter Property Group).

CBRE’s Brett Kroner, Keith Puritz, Ryan Bain, and Zach Graham repped CenterPoint Properties in a 75k SF lease to Design Phase at 601 N Skokie Hwy in Lake Bluff. The site is part of CenterPoint Business Center, which has several hundred car parking spaces. Newmark Knight Frank Epic’s Tom Boyle and Jared Paff repped the tenant.

NelsonHill’s Frank Melchert repped Duray Manufacturing in a 34k SF industrial lease within a 59k SF building at 9400 W King St in Franklin Park. The firm is relocating its operations from Balmoral in Chicago. Cushman & Wakefield’s Jay Maher repped the landlord, The Missner Group.


CONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

REVA Development Partners broke ground on The Oaks of Vernon Hills, a 304-unit luxury rental community in Vernon Hills. The 27-acre development will feature garden-style apartment buildings and rental rowhomes, with amenities including a clubhouse, outdoor swimming pool, and walking trails. Leasing is expected to begin this spring with first occupancies this summer.

EXECUTIVE MOVES

DTZ appointed Paul Bedborough president of facilities management of the Americas. Based in both Boston and Chicago, he will lead DTZ’s nearly $1B business in facilities management operations. Paul was previously VP of global operations Americas at Global WorkPlace Solutions and earned his MBA at the University of Leicester, UK.

Steve Schnur has been promoted to regional SVP of the Midwest region for Duke Realty. He will be responsible for the company’s more than 23M SF of industrial and office properties in Chicago, St. Louis, and Minneapolis, as well as business development. Steve was previously SVP of Duke’s Chicago operations for nine years. He has a Master’s degree in integrated marketing communications and bachelor’s in organizational studies from Northwestern.

JLL Retail tapped Sylvia Payette as the new Midwest property management lead. She will partner with Midwest retail market leader Larry Kilduff, overseeing the firm’s 11.5M SF portfolio of shopping centers under management in the Midwest. The 20-year industry vet was previously with Inland American Retail Management and holds a bachelor’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash.

Colliers promoted five brokerage professionals to principal: James Estus, who specializes in industrial; David Florent, who specializes in office landlord representation; Frederick Regnery, an industrial services professional; Thomas Rodeno, member of the industrial advisory group; and Michael Senner, who focuses on helping corporations, institutions, lenders, and entrepreneurs develop real estate strategies.
