CREW Welcomes Lanier, Does Miami

Washington, D.C. Other

Yesterday, DC police chief Cathy Lanier was the featured guest at a CREW DC luncheon, where she spoke of her rise from patrol officer, as well as how the MPD builds relationships with the real estate industry to help keep the city's crime rate down. She's snapped here with Barbara McDuffie of Baker Tilly, Bognet Construction SVP and CREW DC president Jennifer Bognet (also a Bisnow DC Power Woman), Lincoln Property Co's Bari Nichols, and Castro Haase' Alice Haase.

Meanwhile, the CREW national convention is going down in Miami this week, and we're on the ground, where last night we snapped Douglas Elliman Real Estate retail group chairman Faith Hope Consolo (also a Bisnow NY Power Woman). She says luxury retailers entering the US used to tell her they wanted to establish a presence on the East Coast and the West Coast. Now they’re telling her they want New York and Miami. She says Miami's attractive because of its tourist base, high-end single-family housing stock, and booming office sector. W're told the conference sold out, and it’s no wonder—the CREW Network has an all-time high 9,200 members. The speakers include Hillary Clinton.
