Consulting Firm Moving HQ From Alexandria To Shirlington

An 84-employee consulting firm is moving its HQ from Alexandria to a 15k SF location in Arlington's Shirlington Tower.

FMP Consulting, which is rebranding itself from Federal Management Partners, was founded in 1991 and previously worked in Alexandria's Mark Center. Above, FMP employees pose in the company's new office.

The move brings the company closer to its DC clients and gives it better access to public transportation and other amenities. The space is designed to accommodate growth, which FMP expects to experience. FMP is the second company to announce it's leaving the Mark Center this year.

"After being in the same building in Alexandria for the past 15 years, we were looking for a vibrant new location with access to restaurants and shops for our staff and clients," FMP SVP Sherean Miller tells Bisnow.

Shirlington Tower, a Class-A 233k SF office building at 2900 South Quincy St, was bought in December by Dallas-based Velocis. When the private equity firm bought the tower, it was roughly 50% vacant, a number it hoped to improve by marketing the retail amenities. With FMP's relocation, that strategy appears to be working.
