13 Things You Need to Know This Morning
Sweetgreen Sees Green
It's been a great year for the three founders of DC's Sweetgreen, whom your publisher snapped this weekend at a Summit event in Utah. Friends from G'Town U who started their first healthy food store in DuPont Circle in '07, they now have 27 locations—19 in the DC region and others in Philly, Boston, and NYC (at the chic NoMad hotel, no less), with new locations planned for LA and SF. They got $22 million in funding from Steve Case's Revolution. They held their fifth annual Sweetlife Music Festival in May at Merriweather Post featuring headliners like Capital Cities, Bastille, and Foster the People. Above all, they're improving the health of this region—and keeping America's retail brokers busy finding new locations! Congrats and thanks to, from left, Nic Jammet, Jonathan Neman, and Nathaniel Ru.
