Comstock Adds To Its Wiehle-Reston East Pipeline With 761k SF Project

The current terminus of the Silver Line at Wiehle Reston East has become a hub for mixed-use development, and Comstock Partners is adding even more to its own pipeline in the area.

The developer has submitted plans for a mixed-use project with 500 residential units, 91k SF of retail and 178k SF of either office or hotel, the Washington Business Journal reports.

It purchased the site, a one-story office condo complex at 11321 Sunset Hills Road, in October and hinted that it had mixed-use development in mind.

Called The Promenade at Reston Station, the project sits adjacent to Comstock's Reston Station, a 1.5M SF mixed-use development. The street in between the projects, Reston Station Boulevard, will be turned into a woonerf. The innovative streetscape concept that allows drivers, bikers and pedestrians to share the same space, has begun to emerge in DC with The Wharf and JBG's Eckington Yards project. [WBJ]
