Study: It's Time To Woo Family Foundations

Placeholder

Family foundations are making up a larger portion of all family funds, a sign of the massive wealth that’s amassed in the US in the last 25 years. It also shows that more recent donors are formalizing their philanthropy, according to a recent survey. Even better news is that family members at the majority of those newer foundations say they plan to contribute more money, reports the Chronicle of Philanthropy. The study also found that only 21% of donors who created foundations before the ‘70s are still active, while 86% of foundations launched since 2010 are active. National Center for Family Philanthropy president Virginia Esposito (above) says the results prove that family philanthropy is at the earliest stage of development. [CoP]
