Why Altus Just Acquired Another Data Firm

Months after acquiring RealNet Canada, Altus Group just announced its $7.4M purchase of Voyanta, a UK-based provider of real estate data management and analytics software. Altus VP Camilla Bartosiewicz tells us the acquisition of Voyanta—a two-year-old startup in which Altus took a 30% stake back in February, increased to 100% now—will aid the Toronto consultancy in its long-term goal of becoming a data and market research powerhouse. Voyanta's 25-person staff, including co-founder Raj Singh, will join Altus' global research, valuation, and advisory team.
