Speaking of President-elect Donald Trump, Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto is officially on the block, with bids starting at $298M. Receiver FTI Consulting Canada, via CBRE, is handling the sale of 211 hotel and 74 residential units, along with the luxury tower’s retail, including a spa, Calvin bar and America restaurant. The 65-storey building — whose 2012 ribbon-cutting is seen above — is expected to generate robust interest from European and Asian buyers, along with Canadian and U.S. groups. “This is a rare commodity,” CBRE Hotels EVP Bill Stone told the Toronto Star. “There are not a lot of luxury hotels available in North America at this point.” [Star]
