Oracle Again Looks To Unload Bay Area Office Space

Two years after relocating its headquarters from the Bay Area to Austin, Texas, software company Oracle is again looking to shed office space in California. The company listed its 185K SF building in Pleasanton on LoopNet, the San Francisco Business Times reported.

This latest attempt to unload real estate occurs as the company dismissed 200 Bay Area employees as a cost-cutting measure, part of worldwide plans to dismiss thousands of employees.

The Pleasanton property is at 5805 Owens Drive. The company maintains space in Redwood City at 500 Oracle Parkway, but it has been shedding its Bay Area real estate at a drip-feed pace for the past two years.

Oracle previously listed 86K SF at 475 Sansome St. in San Francisco in 2021 for sublease, along with a 230K SF space in Belmont soon after.

Oracle has maintained that it remains committed to the Bay Area as it reduced its office footprint worldwide. The company closed two Kansas City, Missouri, locations in October, KMBC News reported.

Oracle also put its 320K SF space in Santa Monica up for sale earlier this month, The Real Deal reported.
