| Zurich presents an eye-opening white paper: ?Protecting Your Vacant Building.? The research explores how to reduce the common risks and become more aware of coverage pitfalls. According to the paper, one of the side effects of the economic downturn is the increase in vacant buildings—and the increase in claims on those properties, due to hazards and crime. Many property owners don't realize that insurance coverage on vacant property does not last long (most often only 60 days).
