Amtrak Looking For Developer To Build Next To 30th Street Station

Eager to kick-start development around its 30th Street Station, Amtrak is offering a chunk of land to developers to build near the major transit hub.

Amtrak has engaged Newmark Grubb Knight Frank to market a 32,500 SF tract of land at the corner of 30th Street and JFK Boulevard, hoping a developer will build something that can play off its superlative transit connectivity. The site is zoned for a wide range of institutional, commercial, office and residential uses, Amtrak said in a release. It will also come with air rights to develop significant density.

The parcel is part of the 30th Street Station District Plan, which calls for 18M SF of commercial development, including building over 88 acres of railyards behind the station, pictured above. It was originally planned for a Cira Centre redux office tower by Brandywine REIT, but those plans were scuttled.
