MRP Residential's 370k SF mixed-use development at 965 Florida Ave (rendered) has landed its first tenant. Whole Foods will occupy roughly 40k SF at the much-debated development. MRP and JBG teamed up for the project after the Vince Gray administration chose MRP's bid, thwarting JBG'S big plans for the site, which was rumored to involve a Harris Teeter, District Source reports. The finished product will have 400 residential units, 30% of which will be affordable, and 50k SF of ground-floor retail. A PUD agreement is scheduled to be finalized this summer. [DS]
