Bisnow Scoop: Wright Sigmund Leaving Vornado

Wright Sigmund, who's been the director of retail for Vornado/Charles E. Smith for the last five years, is leaving for First Washington Realty, Bisnow has learned. His last day at Vornado is Nov. 13.

Wright, who we snapped earlier this week at our DC Restaurant and Retail event, has led a strong period of retail growth for Vornado, signing the landmark TechShop deal in Crystal City and bringing Whole Foods to a Vornado project in Pentagon City. Anyone who's walked down Crystal Drive during the day can see Wright's handiwork: he's signed Good Stuff Eatery and We, The Pizza by Top Chef contestant Spike Mendelsohn, Sweetgreen, Taylor Gourmet and Jaleo by Jose Andres.

Wright will lead First Washington's national leasing platform, which controls $3.8B in assets over 13M SF, largely in shopping centers, a source confirmed. The company is based in Bethesda, and run by president/CEO William Wolfe.
