Regency Centers has lured a popular, high-end fitness center to come to Arlington's Clarendon neighborhood.
Equinox Fitness will move to Market Common, the 10-acre mixed-use development Regency owns in Clarendon, the Washington Business Journal reports.
After acquiring Market Common in spring 2016 from TIAA for $406M, Regency this year launched a major redevelopment effort for the 393K SF complex. The Whole Foods-anchored community had more than 100K SF of availability as of February. It is unclear how large a footprint Equinox will occupy.
Market Common already has a Washington Sports Club, but the Equinox brand, popular with celebrities, has begun to expand throughout the region. The luxury fitness company has locations in Tysons, Bethesda and D.C.'s West End. In December it signed on with The Meridian Group to open a 34K SF location in Anthem Row at 700 K St. NW
