A "permit expeditor" has been accused of bribing officials with the DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs to fast-track permit applications, Washington City Paper reports. In a criminal complaint filed on Friday, Macoumba N'Diaye was charged with paying between $20 and $500 to multiple different DCRA officials—payments he called "lunch money"—to help get permits through the system faster, according to the paper. From August 2010 to May 2013, investigators say N'Diaye regularly paid off three DCRA officials on behalf of permit applicants to expedite the "tedious and time-consuming" process, according to the complaint. The DCRA staffers who took money weren't identified, and department spokesman Matt Orlins declined to tell the WCP whether they still work for the city. [WCP]
