Skanska Signs 2 Restaurants At 2112 Penn Development

Law firm Cleary Gottlieb will soon have two new restaurants to wine and dine clients when it moves into the new trophy office building at 2112 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.

Skanska signed restaurants North Italia and Flower Child for a total of 10K SF at the 11-story mixed-use project, the developer announced Thursday, fully leasing the building's retail space.

The restaurants, both owned by Sam Fox Restaurants, plan to open late 2018 or early 2019. North Italia, an upscale modern Italian restaurant, will occupy 6K SF. The concept has existing locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas City, Las Vegas and Texas.

Flower Child, which features a menu of organic, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan items, will occupy 4K SF. It has locations in Arizona, California, Las Vegas and Texas.

The developer in January 2016 signed Cleary Gottlieb for a 115K SF lease at the 250K SF project, just three months after it broke ground on spec. Bisnow will host its Washington D.C. State of the Market at the 2112 Penn building June 19.

Skanska also announced Wednesday it signed café concept Bluestone Lane for 1K SF at 99 M, the spec office development it is building in Capitol Riverfront, where it also signed restaurants Circa and Open Road. That project has also landed multiple office tenants, including IAM National Pension Fund, Credit Union National Association and Pyxera Global.
