Southwest D.C. megaproject The Wharf has landed another tenant at its 800 Maine Ave. SW office building.

Media Matters for America is moving into a 31K SF space on two floors of the building, according to a building permit issued Feb. 3 by the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs.

The deal, which has not been publicly announced, was also included in Lincoln Property Co.'s Q3 2019 office market report, and Compstak lists it as a lease signed in 2019.

A nonprofit organization founded in 2004, Media Matters describes itself as a "progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media."

The organization, which declined to comment, does not have a current headquarters listed on its website, including only a P.O. Box. The organization was incorporated with the address of 1625 Massachusetts Ave. NW, a downtown D.C. office building.

The Wharf, developed by Hoffman-Madison Waterfront, delivered its first phase in October 2017 and broke ground on Phase 2 in March 2019. The two office buildings in Phase 1 have been leased to a variety of tenants, including the American Psychiatric Association, Van Scoyoc Associates, Cornerstone Government Affairs, Fish & Richardson and Washington Gas.
