Peebles Plans 40-Unit Mount Vernon Condo Building

After buying a parcel on Fifth Street NW from The Donohoe Cos in 2015, The Peebles Corp has unveiled its plans for the site. The developer plans to build a 40-unit condo complex at 925 Fifth St NW.

The 70-year-old, single-story building on the site has been deemed historic, so Peebles must incorporate the existing façade and submit its designs to the Historic Preservation Review Board by Sept. 12, the Washington Business Journal reports. The design (above) was created by WDG Architecture.

The planned development will sit just down the street from Peebles' other major DC project, an SLS Lux Hotel at Fifth and Eye streets NW, scheduled to open in 2019. [WBJ]
