Trammell Crow, a leading developer with over $8B of projects underway across the country, has a new head of its D.C. region.

The company announced Monday it promoted Campbell Smith to business unit leader for its Mid-Atlantic region.

Smith has been with Trammell Crow for over 16 years and previously served as managing director and chief operating officer of its Mid-Atlantic Business Unit. He will move into the leading role formerly held by Chris Roth, who will continue to serve as the company's Eastern operations president.

"During his tenure with TCC, which began in 2002, Campbell has demonstrated his ability to execute, source, win and shape development and investment deals," Roth said in a release. "His strong background in finance and acquisitions, combined with his attention to detail and disciplined approach to project management, helps ensure that our client’s interests are protected throughout the development process."

Trammell Crow is developing the three-building Armature Works project in NoMa, where it signed The James Hotel last year. The developer also landed the Federal Election Commission and Federal Communications Commission to major leases for the second and third phases of its Sentinel Square development in NoMa. It sold the third phase of Sentinel Square to MetLife after signing the FCC lease.

Additionally, Trammell Crow is partnering on the $720M McMillan Sand Filtration Site project, which remains stalled by appeal, and it acquired a Brookland development site in June.
