New name, new venue, same great time. DC's brokerage community took over the Fairmont yesterday for the CREBA Awards, and we were on hand to capture the glitz and glamour. (And stay tuned later today for a special Bisnow edition featuring all the winners.)
Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's Pat Marr (whom we snapped with teammates Jennifer Ralph and Sally Wilson) took home Broker of the Year after an all-star 12 months, including the blockbuster Arnold & Porter and Miller & Chevalier deals in DC. But Pat's no stranger to hardware at this event, having won Transaction of the Year four times. (Meryl Streep calls him for advice.)
Cushman & Wakefield's Moe Hamilton (here with Brookfield's Daniel Purrington) took home another of the night's crystal obelisks: the Brendan McCarthy Award, in honor of a career full of big deals and big contributions to the DC community. Moe's quietly mentored scores of young brokers and has served as a youth sports coach and Boy Scout troop parent over the years.

Studley's Adam Singer (sans his trademark goatee) with HITT's Brian Urben, Ryan Webb, and Cliff Chow. The HITT crew won Contractor of the Year for its work on projects such as Macerich/Hines' Tysons Tower and MRP's Tysons Overlook.
Some more Cushmanites: Kyle McFadden took home the Rising Star Award (as well as Virginia Transaction of the Year with Moe and colleagues Brian Tucker, Eric Berlin, and John Dragelin), while retail gurus Matt Alexander, Dave Dochter, and Caitlin Slowinski won Retail Transaction of the Year for bringing the Tanger Outlets to National Harbor.
The cocktail reception was swamped, with all the sprawl naturally originating (this being a real estate event) from the bar.
