Brookfield Readies 2001 M Demo

This sign says it all at Brookfield's 2001 M St—the thing is about to come down. The firm's Katie Malone tells us that interior demo work on the 220k SF office building will start within the next week, with traffic barriers going up and the sidewalk being closed. (If you have anything in the lost and found there, now's probably your last chance to get it.) Once interior work is finished, Brookfield will get to work on demo-ing the south side of the building, extending it out to M Street, and adding another floor...

... to eventually achieve this sight, the base of a 285k SF, brand-new trophy office building. Davis is handling construction for the project, and LSM is the designer.
