Vancouver Building Permits Hit an All-Time High

Strong construction intentions for multiple dwellings and commercial buildings drove the value of building permits in Vancouver to an all-time high of $979M in March, up from $496M the same month last year, according to new figures from Statistics Canada. Total building permit values for B.C. came in at $1.4B for March, up 63.5% year over year, spurred by growth in residential building permit values. Non-res building permit values weren’t too shabby, either, rising by 140% month over month to $471M.
