Slate Office REIT Takes 100% Stake in Winnipeg’s MTS Data Centre

Slate Office REIT has paid $5.2M to complete the purchase of the remaining 20% interest in Winnipeg’s MTS Data Centre, increasing its equity ownership in the 64k SF facility to 100%. The centre features a 25k SF data hall that can hold up to 800 racks of IT gear. Leased for 15 years to Manitoba Telecom Services, whose occupancy commenced in June, the data centre will have a “significant positive impact” on Slate Office's financial performance, the firm said, contributing $4.4M to its funds from operations in year one.
