It's been a busy few weeks on the Concert Properties front, starting with the announcement that Concert and Jawl Properties have been selected by the province to develop a six-acre property in Victoria’s James Bay. The entire block will integrate office, residential, and retail. The province has committed to leasing 180k SF of the office space over a 20-year term, since the site’s location will be next to the British Columbia Legislature.
Concert prez Brian McCauley feels the companies’ combined development experience in Victoria were a plus in being awarded the project. Concert also announced that renovations are nearly complete on the company’s latest rental development—The Q Apartments (top image) in Victoria. The 124-suite rental project is being created through an extensive renovation of the former Queen Victoria Hotel.
