Syl Apps Joins Hines’ Toronto Team

Syl Apps III—grandson of Leafs captain Syl Apps and son of Pittsburgh Penguins / Los Angeles Kings player Syl Apps Jr.—has joined Hines as its Toronto-based managing director. He will lead Hines’ investment business in Canada, where the firm has initiated, developed, acquired or managed 10M SF of office, retail, residential and entertainment projects, including the Bayside development, a JV with Tridel on the Toronto waterfront. Prior to Hines, Syl, a Princeton and Harvard grad who also played pro hockey, held positions with GreenOak Real Estate and Goldman Sachs in London.
