Fortress Real Developments has completed its acquisition of the Collier Centre, a mixed-use development in Barrie that was 65% complete when it came under distress last year. The previous builder, Mady Developments, sought creditor protection earlier this year. Fortress plans to restart construction immediately—EllisDon was awarded the contract—with completion expected to take 12 to 14 months. Tenants include Bank of Montreal, City of Barrie and Sobeys.
