Big news for 5th + Columbia, the 43-story, 7 60K SF tower Stockbridge Capital and Daniels Real Estate is aiming to complete by mid-2016. (You'll never guess where it will be located.) Floors 2-15 are slated to become a luxury hotel. The distinctive design by ZGF Architects (which makes the building appear as if it's wrapped in cellophane) is not quite new; Daniels announced plans in '08 but waited for the market to improve. (In the meantime, the design made it even more energy efficient and shiny.) The building will be the fifth tallest office building in Seattle and sits near the Mars Hill Church (formerly First United Methodist Church), a historic building Daniels' Kevin Daniels helped save a few years ago.
