LA-based CityView has purchased land near the Union City BART station for a transit-oriented multifamily project.
When completed in 2017, the project will have 243 residential units and 2,400 SF of retail. CityView is providing equity capital and partnering with San Francisco-based Windflower Properties for the project, which is fully entitled. (Windflower gained approval about a year ago.)
Union City is near jobs, transportation and shopping, with BART making access easy for San Francisco and Silicon Valley. In the past 15 years, one residential project has been built in the area, making CityView confident there will be strong demand for the new housing, says company CEO Sean Burton.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for Q1 this year, with completion expected by Q2 2017. David Baker Architects, which specializes in urban environments, designed the project.
