Apple has sealed a deal for a second spaceship-style campus, a 777k SF project in Sunnyvale. The tech giant had been in negotiations with Landbank Investments LLC for its planned Central & Wolfe campus, located at Central Expressway and Wolfe Road.
The new campus features a curvaceous design that harkens to its still under-construction Apple Campus 2 in Cupertino, which features a spaceship design. The Sunnyvale campus will span 18 acres and feature three connected main buildings protruding from a central courtyard. The design also calls for the campus to be surrounded with a park-like setting, relegating cars to an out of sight parking garage or underground.
Architecture firm HOK was tasked with design for the original plans. It’s unclear if Apple and Landmark will tweak the design, but there are no major changes anticipated. [SVBJ]
