Apple Parts Ways with ‘Spaceship’ Campus Builders

After a breakdown in negotiations, Skanska USA and DPR Construction Inc. will be leaving Apple Inc.’s ‘Spaceship’ campus project. Skanska and DPR were expected to complete the main structure of the ring-shaped building, while Rudolph & Sletten were recently tasked with completing the interior. It’s not clear what caused the negotiations to break down. No word as of yet on who will take over for Skanska and DPR. The joint venture team has reportedly put in $1.5B worth of work to date. The multibillion-dollar project is said to be employing first-ever construction methods; its scheduled completion date remains uncertain. [BIZ]
