Great Wolf Resorts Inc. has started work on its 18th indoor waterpark resort in North America, which will include 350 rooms. The property will be within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community's Talking Stick Entertainment District.

The Talking Stick Entertainment District, near Scottsdale, includes the Talking Stick Resort, which features a casino, entertainment venues, accommodations and dining, as well as Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Topgolf and OdySea in the Desert.

The Salt River Pima‐Maricopa Indian Community and Chicago-based Great Wolf Resorts inked a long‐term lease that allows the resort company use of the land near Salt River Fields at Talking Stick for nearly a century. The resort is slated to open in the second half of 2019.

The property will be a year-round destination. It will feature an 85K SF indoor waterpark with a variety of slides, rides and pools, and a 27K SF entertainment center called Great Wolf Adventure Park, with a multi-level rope course, miniature golf and an arcade.

There will be a number of dining options, including Barnwood, a farm-to-fork restaurant, Dunkin' Donuts and a Ben and Jerry's ice cream parlor. The property will also include 6,500 SF of conference space.

The lead architect for the project is Gensler, while general contractor Mortenson will manage the construction of the resort. Neuman Pools, which specializes in water attractions, will build both the indoor and outdoor pool areas.
