Six Massive Suburban Developments

In the greater Philadelphia's boom, the suburbs aren't being left behind. Ahead of our Future of the 'Burbs event on Jan. 28 at 502 W Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting we're highlighting six major suburban developments recently finished or in the works.

1. 9 Presidential Blvd (office)

Developer: Brandywine Realty Trust

Place: Bala Cynwyd

Size: 180k SF

Suburban Sizzle Factor: Class-A vacancy in Bala Cynwyd is only 7.6% (Colliers data), so the demand's there for new space.

2. 400 W Elm St (office)

Developer: Equus Capital Partners

Place: Conshohocken

Size: 340k SF

Suburban Sizzle Factor: About 1M SF of development's been approved in Conshohocken; once a steel town, it's now evolving into an office hub.

3. 700 and 800 Uline Way (industrial)

Developer: Liberty Property Trust

Area: Lehigh Valley

Size: 1.7M SF

Suburban Sizzle Factor: The Lehigh Valley's primed for distribution space because of the surge in e-commerce; this particular example is 100% leased by packing making Uline before completion (pictured: another Uline-occupied facility).

4. Camden Waterfront (mixed-use)

Developer: Liberty Property Trust

Place: Camden

Size: 16 acres

Suburban Sizzle Factor: Only technically the suburbs, but the proposed life/work/play redevelopment plan would be the largest private sector investment ever in the City of Camden.

5. King of Prussia Town Center (retail)

Developer: JBGR Retail

Place: King of Prussia

Size: 20 acres

Suburban Sizzle Factor: Part of a larger master plan, the new retail space will open with several major retail anchors.

6. Sora West (mixed-use)

Developer: Keystone Property Group

Area: Conshohocken

Size: 500k SF office, plus other space

Suburban Sizzle Factor: Includes a major public green space component, around which office, hotel, retail and parking anchors are located.
